Helvetica has no soul

I want to give existing typefaces some personality. I understand 'serious' typographers will hate this, but why should type be passive?

I started with Helvetica Bold as it is such a blank canvas as a template for exploration. Initially I have experimented with the letter A and from all these design I will take forward a selection and produce a usable typeface. All of these A's fit the main structure of the Helvetica Bold capitol A.

The letterforma I have chosen to take forward and to be the primary focus for Brief 01 is the second in, second down 'A' which is in a similar style to my Collab. typeface.
