Butter it big

From what I learnt yesterday through my experiments I have taken on a large scale bread embossing and toasting task.

Around 3x the size of previous attempts.

'Butter me up' printed large scale on bread by toasting method.

Typography detail.

I am relatively happy with it at this point but feel that some sections could do with more contrast to make the typography clearer. I am a little scared of doing anything to it now as I have run out of bread and money! Risks must be taken! It also needs the condiments adding.

Condiment around letterform.

Condiment around and inside letterform.

Condiment covering letterform.

From a-far I think the first one works were the condiment is spread around the letterform. I still want the toast to be the main focus and with the others I think the toast and type become secondary.

Photoshop mock-up (extremely rough and quick!) of condiment around whole of text.

I really like this and think it would work really well for my range of products for what I have in mind for packaging and promotion. See Visuals - packaging and Visuals - promotion for more.

Typography with condiments around.

Well I am really happy with how this photographs from above. I think it needs more coloured toast around the edges...

'Butter me up'

So happy with this! With a touch of editing on Photoshop I can make the typography really pop out. It is way better than I imagined in my head and dead happy with this result! It represents my whole product really well.

I think I need to show white bread as this is what the customer actually buys... I have thought about where my promotional material goes and I need a long thing image and a portrait one for inside busses/trains etc. I think the idea of filling up the space with bread is a great use as it not only demonstrates the raw product but also gives me more of a blank canvas for any information I need to put on the posters. As these will be in places where people have time to sit and read I can make use of this element to further sell my product.

I need to photograph these again tomorrow in better lighting for the clearest and best image. Then I can photoshop them slightly to make them even better.
